Information you will need:
County: Pinellas
County
Name: Terri Schiavo
Her address: Hospice
Woodside; 6774 102nd Ave. N. Pinellas Park, Florida.
Age:
39
Race: Caucasion
Sex:
Female
Social Security #: Not known
Indication of disability: Cognitive disorder
due to brain injury
Indication of
injury: Death order (and no rehabilitation
allowed by husband for the last 10 years)
Relationship of caretaker: Her guardian is Michael
Schiavo, her husband
Caregiver: Hospice Woodside
Abuse: Terri
has been ordered to die because her husband claimed she had said
she would not want
to be alive if a burden to others.
She has communicated to her family that she does not want to die.
She
has revoked the alleged advance directive.
The judge has ordered her
feeding tube is to be removed Wednesday,
October 15, at 2:00 PM. He has also ordered she is to have no food
or fluid by mouth.
The woman I talked to knew nothing about Terri. I told her about the
entire situation, especially that Terri is aware and responds to people.
These are the affidavits:
CARLA SAUER IYER, R.N. Michael insisted on no
rehabililtation, Terri spoke on a regular basis, Carla's detailed notes regarding
Terri's responsiveness were never in the file when Carla came back on duty.
CAROLYN JOHNSON, CNA Michael refused rehabilitation, going
against doctor's orders, Carolyn was not even allowed to put a cloth into
Terri's hand to keep her hand from closing in on itself, because Michael
considered this to be rehabilitation. We all discussed the fact that we could
be fired for reporting that Terri was responsive and especially for giving
her treatment.
Heidi Law, CNA testified that Terri had eaten Jello-O and
drunk orange juice and apple juice, Michael refused rehabilitation, Terry
had obvious cognitive awareness of her surroundings and talked, she often
found her extensive notes of Terri's behavior in the trash.
I again told the woman that Terri has made it known that she
does not want to die, which revokes her alleged advanced
directive. She said she will file the report.
Statement
from the parents of Terri Schindler-Schiavo--Bob & Mary
Schindler:
We love our daughter very much and we want her home. Over the last 13 years,
Terri has laughed with us, cried with us, talked with us, and even tried
to get out of her chair. The accusations that Terri is in a coma or is a
"vegetable" are a lie.
We beg Michael Schiavo, and those working with him to end our daughter’s
life, to let her come home to her family. We will sign any agreement you
want, giving you all monies related to Terri’s collapse and any insurance
money that may be forthcoming. You take the money. We just want our daughter.
